Open to the public since 1979, this museum traces the history of 500 m2 of photography, one of its inventors and its techniques with an astonishing collection of devices, from camerae obscurae and magic lanterns up the digital image. The presentation is enhanced by extensive documentation, interactive animations, and video projections in a bold mingling of modern and ancient architecture. Temporary exhibitions complement the permanent display regularly. Games, text and special facilities are provided for young audiences.
